This might be a silly question, but why are more songs released on Vinyl? And why are they generally released a lot earlier....
Just a topic wasn't too sure bout...

A lot of stuffsavailable digitally before the vinyls come out I'm finding, the few labels that do chuck out vinyl before mp3's are trying to maximise vinyl sales, for example certain drum N Bas labels, even worse there are D'n'B labels that are still vinyl only!!!

tbh iv seen that promo's and white labels are more available on vinyl than cdr, for example sean tyas & simon patterson - us/somethings up has been avail on vinyl for months, but you can only just bout get it on cdr from places like trackitdown, juno etc now
because its due for release

I disagree, promos are equally as available on CD's you just haveto get on the paid mailing lists to get them.
No difference to the vinylgame.
There is the question of do you want to fork out for slabs of vinyl just for one track on one side you want and one sideyou dont when you could by just what you want as downloads much cheaper.
All persona preference.

CD's and MP3 downloads are far more practical in this day and age ... but I can understand the demand for vinyl still. If I entered the game a few years earlier I would have gone down the vinyl-brick road because its much more hands on.

I agree songs are out before on vinyl! They say its because its been released, but then are they not released on vinyl or is it because they can limit the number easier.
For example if they make 100 copies on vinyl, and sell them only 100 will ever get out. Then when they release loads more people have heard it and can sell more.
If you release it on MP3 and limit sales for 100. More then 100 copies will exist, people give it to their mates etc!
So to limit copies being made initially they go on vinyl. Obviously Judge and people get them on mp3 because they play them and wont give out to any tom dick or harry!
